HISTORY

  • Model: Commando
  • Exterior: Silver
  • Stock#: 131398
  • VIN #: 850F131398
  • Mileage: 17712
Why this vehicle?
The Norton Commando with just only 17,712 original miles is one of the most famous motorcycles in history. First offered in 1968, based on their existing pre-unit parallel-twin design but with one key ingredient that makes this model special. To counteract the vibration that was so common in British twins the Commando used a new frame with an Isolastic mounting system. This system allowed the complete drivetrain to be rubber mounted so the rider feels no vibration, but the handling did not suffer. It worked so well the UK Cycle World magazine voted the Commando the motorcycle of the year for five years in a row. These bikes are extremely sought after and this one is a beautiful example of the 850cc electric start.

This bike has many upgrades including
  • Fresh Top End,
  • Single Carb Conversion
  • Updated Electrics including the Starter.
This bike is in excellent condition and ready to ride. Because these bikes are still so popular there are plenty of parts and accessories available to maintain, upgrade and modify your Commando to suit your taste. This is a rare opportunity to invest in a useable vintage motorcycle you can enjoy for years to come.

Vehicle History:
The previous owner had the Norton 4 years and recorded everything he did on the bike for maintenance and reconditioning it to its current condition. The chrome shines like new and when we checked the fluids everything looked like it had just been serviced.
The Norton comes with a thick folder full of services, and even includes some hand-written notes on things like cold starting procedure to avoid “wet sumping,” and other things prior Norton owners will be familiar with, while a new Norton owner will be thankful that these items have been documented and addressed.
