Legendary! We are THRILLED to be representing automotive royalty: This 1979 Porsche 911 930 Turbo is the height of Porsche's engineering in the 1970s. Long prized for combining the telepathic Porsche 911 handling with 296hp, the 930 demands respect and there are (sadly) few survivors. This 930 was recently treated to almost $33K in mechanical improvements to ensure reliable performance. With great looks, a solid body, and a top-notch drivetrain, it is ready to be loved, cherished, and driven!
HISTORY
The current owner purchased this 930 in 1996 and enjoyed it thoroughly. He now decided to sell it because he recently purchased a brand new GT3 RS and simply cannot stop driving it. At the time of the purchase of the 930 in 1996, the odometer of the vehicle was showing 47K mi. The 1996 original receipt for the MA State Inspection indicates 47K miles. Currently, the odometer reads 63,644 miles, which is consistent with the 16K mi that the current owner drove the 930 during the 24 years of the ownership. The vehicle was always meticulously maintained, including the $22K engine work performed by Autosport Engineering in 2019. The same year he spent $11K with Autolab for various mechanical improvements, including Fuel Injection, Oil Cooling, and other important areas. Upon preparing to sell the vehicle, the current owner received a duplicate title from MA RMV and noticed that the title's mileage is inaccurate. However, due to the length of time between vehicle purchase in 1996 and now, it is impossible to rectify the mileage discrepancy. Because of this discrepancy, the car has to be sold as TMU (True Miles Unknown). The 930 was sold to the current owner as a 47k mile example. It was not until he received a replacement for the original title, which was lost that he learned about the discrepancy.
CONDITION
This Porsche is in excellent mechanical condition with service records that support $33K worth of completed mechanical improvements. The engine starts easily, runs strong, no unusual sounds, does not smoke, revs easily, and builds power as designed. Clutch take-up is strong and communicative. The car shifts into gear positively with a reassuring snick. Near new tires and brakes at all four corners. The vehicle was repainted about 20 years ago and the condition of the paint shows aging. The Interior is factory-original in a condition consistent with the vehicle age. There are no strange odors in the cabin. COMPREHENSIVE INSPECTION & SERVICE STATUS:
We performed a comprehensive vehicle inspection. Our master technician checked the entire vehicle. The vehicle was road tested and all functions tested. Including electrical, drivability, and accessories. All maintenance and service updates were completed, as well as concourse-level reconditioning and detailing work.
