It all started in 1901. The first Royal Enfield motorcycle is produced. Designed by Bob Walker Smith and Frenchman Jules Gotiet, it has a 1 1/2 hp Minerva engine mounted in front of the steering head. The rear wheel is driven by a long rawhide belt. Todays lineup of Royal Enfield motorcycles have come a long way since their inception. Built for all roads or no roads at all these dependable and rugged motorcycles can be found all over the globe. The latest versions now sport a 650cc engine while still retaining those classic great looks.
